Point is, how Alstrom benefits nation? 

Alstom trains are known for its quality and its name
  • Total contract of manufacturing 800 locomotive are given to it 
  • Indian Government says to manufactured 795  locomotive in Bihar only
  • It creates many job opportunities in Bihar
  • Touted as the largest FDI projects of the Railways, the Ministry of Railways and Alstom came together in 2015
  • An agreement worth 3.5 billion euros was signed to manufacture 800 electric locomotives for freight services and its associated maintenance
So what is the target?
  • The target of manufacturing these locomotive is to carry a weight of 6000 ton with a speed of more than 100km/hr
  • And yes these trains can be very useful in boost export, import and manufacturing 
  • According to the contract, The first five locomotives were to be imported from France while the remaining 795 was to be manufactured as part of the "Make In India" initiative
  • The company is expected to supply the first five locomotives in 2019, 35 in 2020, 60 in 2021 and 100 every year thereafter till the order is completed    
  • The project to manufacture the most powerful locomotive was started in 2018 and the first prototype locomotive was brought  out in shape in March 2018
  • Ministry of Railway takes trial of  carrying 118 wagons near about 6000 ton with a speed of over 100 km/hr 
So yes we can say that this project is very helpful for nation development, and yes with this infrastructure also develops which attracts more investors and reduces the cost, time of transportation.
